The city government changed its approach to building bicycle lanes to be based on residents' actual trips. This year's priority is directed at corridors that more seamlessly connect residential areas, transit nodes and office areas.
Apart from the track, supporting elements such as safe parking and shaded spots were included in the design. This step is considered important so that the bicycle is not only comfortable to use on weekends, but also realistic for work trips.
Evaluation will be carried out based on the level of daily use and safety, not just the length of the completed line. This measure is considered a more honest way to see whether policies really change mobility behavior.
