Jayapura Prepares 14 Community Health Centers to Operate 24 Hours a Day, Expanding Access to Healthcare Services

The Jayapura City Health Department aims to have all 14 community health centers in the city providing 24-hour service starting in 2026.

This policy is designed to improve public access to healthcare services.

The program is primarily intended for residents who require emergency care outside of normal business hours.

The Head of the Jayapura City Health Department explained that the local government is currently preparing the necessary support infrastructure.

Preparations include medical personnel, health facilities, and the operational readiness of each community health center.

With a 24-hour service system, the public is expected to have easier access to examinations and treatment at any time.

Community health centers are also expected to be able to provide prompt first aid before patients are referred if necessary.

This program is part of the city government’s efforts to improve the quality of basic healthcare services.

Additionally, this policy is aimed at expanding healthcare coverage for all residents of Jayapura.

The government hopes that the availability of 24-hour community health centers will expedite medical care and improve the quality of life for the community.
