ABMM Develops Biotron Technology to Promote Sustainable Agriculture in South Kalimantan

[10.49 PM, 7/6/2026] delrey: PT Cipta Kridatama (CK), a subsidiary of the ABM Investama Group, is expanding its community empowerment program through the development of sustainable agricultural clusters that utilize the Biochar Three in One or Biotron technology in South Kalimantan.

This program aims to increase agricultural productivity while providing economic and environmental benefits to communities located near the company’s operational areas.

Biotron technology was developed as an agricultural solution to help farmers increase crop yields without excessive reliance on chemical fertilizers through the use of biochar and organic fertilizers.

The application of this technology is expected to improve soil structure, increase soil fertility, and support more environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural practices.

Program implementation is focused in Tanah Bumbu Regency and PT Borneo Indobara’s operational areas as part of efforts to strengthen community-based agricultural economies.

In its implementation, CK collaborates with the Binuang Agricultural Training Center and the Kusan Hulu Agricultural Extension Office to provide technical training, field demonstrations, and guidance to farmer groups.

Through this mentoring, farmers gain knowledge on the use of biochar, more efficient land management, and cultivation techniques that can increase agricultural productivity.

In its implementation, CK collaborates with the Binuang Agricultural Training Center and the Kusan Hulu Agricultural Extension Office to provide technical training, field demonstrations, and guidance to farmer groups.

Through this guidance, farmers gain knowledge about the use of biochar, more efficient land management, and cultivation techniques that can increase agricultural productivity.

In addition to increasing crop yields, Biotron technology also has the potential to reduce production costs as the need for synthetic fertilizers can be gradually reduced.

The use of biochar is considered capable of improving soil health in the long term, thereby supporting the sustainability of community agricultural production.

This technology also has the potential to be applied in the rehabilitation of former mining sites and the development of agroforestry systems that integrate economic and environmental conservation aspects.

According to company management, initial results from the implementation of Biotron show positive developments in soil quality and the productivity of community-managed agricultural land.

Moving forward, CK is committed to expanding the scope of the program so that more farmers can benefit from this technology and to support sustainable local economic development.

The Biotron Program is part of the ABMM Group’s sustainability strategy, which prioritizes a balance between business operations, environmental protection, workplace safety, and community empowerment.

This initiative is also in line with the government’s efforts to promote rural development, enhance food security, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
