President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to France yielded a number of significant achievements in the fields of diplomacy and the economy.
During a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, the two countries agreed to elevate their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Indonesia and France.
This agreement reflects the growing closeness of the two nations’ ties as they address various global challenges and opportunities.
In addition to strengthening diplomatic ties, this visit also resulted in investment commitments totaling more than US$11 billion, or approximately Rp176 trillion.
The cooperation discussed covers various strategic sectors, ranging from defense, energy, education, trade, to investment.
One of the main agenda items was the holding of the France–Indonesia High Level Business Council forum, which brought together leaders of major companies from both countries to explore opportunities for economic collaboration.
According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the government is also overseeing the implementation of 27 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) that involve significant investment value.
In addition, a number of new commercial agreements were also reached, particularly in the energy and trade sectors.
Discussions between the two heads of state also covered strengthening cooperation in the fields of clean energy, research, higher education, and trade relations between Indonesia and the European Union.
The French government also extended a state welcome, underscoring the importance of Indonesia’s position as a strategic partner in the Southeast Asian region.
Overall, the visit is seen as strengthening Indonesia’s position in international diplomacy while opening up broader opportunities for investment, trade, and strategic cooperation to support national economic development.
