The Governor of Papua, Mathius D. Fakhiri, called on the public to continue fostering unity and religious tolerance during the Eid al-Adha holiday in the Islamic year 1447.
According to him, Eid al-Adha is not merely a religious celebration but also an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood and foster mutual respect amidst the diversity of Papua’s society.
He emphasized that the values of sacrifice, sincerity, and social compassion taught during Eid al-Adha must be applied in daily life to foster a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
The Papua Provincial Government also hopes that the spirit of unity and harmony among the people will continue to be maintained to support better regional development.
Furthermore, solidarity among residents is considered a vital asset in maintaining social stability and creating a safe and comfortable environment for all Papuan communities.
The Eid al-Adha holiday is expected to strengthen social solidarity while enhancing a sense of brotherhood within the diverse community.
