Russia Threatens to Intensify Attacks on Kyiv and Urges Foreigners to Leave Ukraine

The Russian government has stated that it will intensify its attacks on Ukraine, particularly on the capital, Kyiv, targeting decision-making centers and military facilities.

Moscow has also warned foreign nationals, diplomats, and international organizations to leave Kyiv immediately, as the situation is deemed increasingly dangerous.

The warning came after Russia launched a massive wave of drone and missile strikes on several regions of Ukraine over the weekend.

The attacks reportedly killed several people, injured dozens of civilians, and damaged various buildings in Kyiv.

In the operation, Russia is said to have used Oreshnik hypersonic missiles, which are claimed to travel at up to 10 times the speed of sound and can carry nuclear warheads.

The Russian government stated that the attacks were a retaliation for Ukrainian attacks in Russian-controlled territories, including an incident in Luhansk that reportedly caused dozens of casualties.

Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly ordered the military to carry out systematic retaliatory strikes.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government views Russia’s threats as part of political pressure and propaganda.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged partner nations not to be swayed by these threats.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been ongoing since February 2022 and continues to escalate with retaliatory strikes from both sides.
