Indonesia and Belarus Strengthen Strategic Economic Cooperation

Indonesia and Belarus held a high-level meeting to strengthen bilateral relations and expand strategic economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place in Minsk and involved Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, along with a number of high-ranking Belarusian officials.

During the discussions, the two countries highlighted opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, food, industry, and connectivity.

Belarus is considered to hold a strategic position as a gateway for Indonesian products into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) region.

Through this cooperation, opportunities for Indonesian exports and investments into the Eurasian region are seen as increasingly open.

In addition to economic issues, both sides also discussed preparations for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s upcoming visit to Indonesia.

The discussions were aimed at ensuring that bilateral relations are not merely diplomatic in nature but also result in concrete projects and cooperation that provide economic benefits for both countries.

Indonesia and Belarus also agreed on a roadmap for cooperation for the period 2026 to 2030, covering the development of trade, investment, technology, and strategic industrial sectors.

This agreement is expected to strengthen long-term partnerships while enhancing Indonesia’s position in the Eurasian market.
