Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar views sports as a vital investment in building a healthy, productive, and empowered Indonesian society.
He made this statement while attending the 4th anniversary celebration of the Meta Run sports community in Jakarta, which featured the theme “Wellness.”
According to Muhaimin, public enthusiasm for sports is currently on the rise and must be sustained to ensure that a healthy lifestyle continues to flourish within society.
He noted that sports not only impact physical health but also play a vital role in creating a more prosperous, just, and thriving life.
The concept of wellness highlighted in the event was also commended, as it was seen as focusing not only on physical fitness but on holistic health.
Additionally, Muhaimin emphasized the importance of inclusivity in sports activities.
The Meta Run community was recognized for providing an open space for all groups, including the deaf community, so that sports can be enjoyed without discrimination.
He also commended the existence of sports communities that have successfully raised public awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
In his view, communities like Meta Run not only support public health but can also drive the development of health-based tourism and community empowerment.
At the end of the event, Muhaimin encouraged the public to continue being active in sports in order to create a healthier, stronger, and more productive Indonesia in the future.
