The Chair of the National Economic Council, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced that the government began integrating data from ministries and agencies into a single unified system based on artificial intelligence (AI) as of June 1, 2026.
This step is part of the government’s digital transformation aimed at improving the effectiveness of data management while enhancing the quality of public services.
According to Luhut, this integrated system will help the government build a more accurate, consistent, and coordinated database to support the formulation of national policies.
Once all systems are connected, AI technology will be used to automatically read, harmonize, and analyze data from various agencies, enabling faster and more precise decision-making processes.
The data integration program is currently undergoing pilot testing in several regions, including 42 regencies and cities as well as Bali, as part of the system refinement process.
The government aims to continue data harmonization and AI technology development over the next few months before full implementation in October 2026.
In addition to supporting government governance, the integration of digital systems will also be utilized to strengthen oversight across various sectors, including public services and export activities.
Through an interconnected system, various administrative processes can be monitored more effectively, thereby minimizing potential data discrepancies and administrative irregularities.
The government believes that the use of AI in data management will enhance transparency, improve bureaucratic efficiency, and strengthen the confidence of businesses and investors in Indonesia’s governance environment.
In the long term, national data integration is expected to support more targeted budget management, implementation of development programs, and public services based on integrated data.
